Procurers, alongside suppliers, investigate the most effective measures to tackle sustainability risks in the supply chain. Together, they explore potential options. The greater involvement suppliers have in identifying the optimal solution, the more beneficial it is. Procurers require input from all other departments to participate in discussions with suppliers.


Sales & Marketing

The sales and marketing experts assist in selecting solutions that customers value most, such as using certified raw materials or alternative ingredients. Wherever possible, consulting customers is advisable. This creates shared ownership.


Legal Affairs

Legal experts monitor whether the chosen measures comply with the laws. Legal professionals are often skilled at asking critical questions and can contribute to the development of optimal solutions.


Finance

The finance department monitors the financial boundaries and plays a decisive role in the ultimate selection of measures. It's helpful to have an estimate of the financial implications before discussions with suppliers and customers.


Sustainability

The sustainability department has a clear understanding of the risks and various measures, such as certification or participating in supply chain initiatives. It's a good idea to involve the sustainability department in discussions with suppliers.
